DuPont Launches New Travallas Herbicide in Canada
Date:02-20-2015
DuPont Crop Protection announced that new DuPont™ Travallas™ herbicide has been registered for use in spring wheat, durum wheat and spring barley.Growers in Western Canada have a powerful and convenient new tool to manage hard-to-control broadleaf weeds in their cereal crops.
Travallas™ is a new broadleaf herbicide that delivers broad-spectrum control of tough broadleaf weeds such as Canada thistle1, dandelion, kochia, cleavers, narrow-leaved hawk's-beard, wild buckwheat, hemp-nettle and volunteer canola*. With a wide window of application, from the 2-leaf to flag leaf stage, growers can spray early or late and still control large weeds effectively.
A high degree of crop safety and built in resistance management are other reasons to consider Travallas™.
As Rob McClinton explains, these performance features are why growers have counted on DuPont sulfonylurea (SU) products for many years. Now, Travallas™ gives growers a new choice in high-performance weed control, in a unique liquid form.
"These broadleaf weeds continue to challenge growers each and every year," says McClinton, Saskatoon, Sask.-based Product Manager with DuPont Canada. "Travallas™ delivers a combination of proven performance and liquid convenience to enhance what our customers can do."
Travallas™combines herbicides from Groups 2 and 4, with three active ingredients (metsulfuron-methyl, thifensulfuron-methyl and fluroxypyr) for powerful performance and effective resistance management. Each 8L jug of Travallas™ treats 40 acres; each package has two jugs. Multiple tank-mix options are available.
"Travallas™ has all the performance that growers expect from DuPont broadleaf herbicides but in a unique liquid formulation that some customers prefer," says McClinton. It's all about empowering growers with high-performance weed control that can be used even under the toughest conditions, by helping them achieve cleaner fields and higher yields in 2015."
