Sumitomo Chemical's Health & Crop Sciences sales up 12% in the first nine-month of FY 2014

Sales of Sumitomo Chemical’s Health & Crop Sciences section increased by ¥23.8 billion ($197 million at the rate of ¥120.55= $1) to ¥231.0 billion($1,920 million ) for the first nine months ended Dec 31, 2014 compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year, and operating income grew by ¥8.2 billion($68 million), to ¥22.8 billion($189 million).

In the area of crop protection chemicals, shipments decreased in Japan due to the effects of the consumption tax increase, shipments rose in overseas markets due to expanded sales.
