Canada oks Valent Bioscience’s fungicide metconazole

The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has granted the full registration of Valent Biosciences’ fungicide metconazole and its end-use product Tourney (50.0% metconazole ), to control several diseases on turfgrass on golf courses and sod farms. The agency noted that for field sprayer application on turfgrass, spray buffer zones up to five metres in width are required to protect sensitive aquatic and terrestrial habitats from spray drift this fungicide.
