Syngenta launches Avicta Complete to fight nematodes in Brazil
Date:01-15-2015
Syngenta has introduced in Brazil Avicta Complete, the first nematicide to offer professional treatment of cotton, corn, and soybean seeds in Brazil, which combines an integrated action against pests and diseases of these crops. The product is a combination of Avicta 500 FS (abamectin), Cruiser 350 FS (thiamethoxam) and Maxim Advanced 195 FS (fludioxonil).
Syngenta has made a survey, through its 23 laboratories, in 595 Brazilian municipalities of 14 states that produce cotton, corn and soybeans. The survey revealed a high infestation of nematodes: Meloidogyne (26%), Pratylenchus (74%), Helicotylenchus (53%), Heterodera (24%) and Rotylenchulus (11%). The survey was authored by Syngenta through its 23 laboratories.
"The areas infested by nematodes have a falling average of productivity of 30%, reaching up to 80% in the cases of citrus," alerted by André Negreiros, marketing manager at Syngenta Brazil.
"The differential of Avicta Completo is the convenience of professional treatment of seeds as a complete solution against nematodes, insects and illnesses. It is the ideal partner for farmers that seek high productivity and high technology seeds," concluded Negreiros.
