Acreage of DuPont Pioneer's plenish soybean expected to double
Date:12-30-2014
Acreage for Plenish, DuPont Pioneer's high oleic soybean, is expected to double in 2015.
Andre Trepanier, senior marketing manager says even though Plenish is still awaiting some regulatory approvals in Europe - the company is looking to grow the market. "What we are doing is concentrating on the areas where we already had great success with Plenish," he says.
"So we're looking at north Indiana and north Ohio, in the east coast - and we're really going to expand the acres there."
Trepanier tells Brownfield the economy on every acre will be tougher in 2015. "I don't mean to say this to be negative," he says. "But, everybody should be looking at ways to maximize their opportunity.
"Plenish will give you the yield you are looking for with extra premium with very little investment in time. As we try to double those acres it is going to do a lot of good for the soybean industry overall."
And, he says, for farmers, too.
