Date:12-24-2014
BASF plans to launch in January a new anti-counterfeiting device for its pesticides. The task is to facilitate the identification of original products with a bimetallic hologram that uses aluminum and cooper and yet exhibits stars, spiral with 2D and 3D color effect that vary according to the viewing angle. Besides, the use of a laser point reveals the word "BASF" in a shaded form on a flat surface.
"You will find the best projection angle varying the laser direction and the hologram for a more clear visualization. The lower the brightness of environment and the higher the intensity of the laser point, the sharper the projection," said Redson Vieira, manager at the Government Relations and Sustainbility of BASF's Crop Protect Unity.
According to the company, the project (started in 2012) look to "bring more safety for consumers and guarantee quality authentication". BASF says that the project is pioneer in agrochemicals segment. "We are the first Brazilian company to offer this technology to our customers. Our goal is to offer in a rapid and simple way to identify the authenticity of the products, bringing more tranquility and safety for farmers in the moment of the purchase," said Vieira.
