Sumitomo seeks to import fenpyrazamine in New Zealand

New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) recently received an application from Sumitomo Chemical Australia seeking to import or manufacture fungicide Prolectus (400g/L fenpyrazamine) for use in commercial grape crops. This product is to control grape grey mould (
Botrytis cinerea) and suppress powdery mildew. Prolectus will be applied to grape at up to 0.6 kg of active ingredient per hectare, and up to twice per growing season. The agency call for public comment will open until February 25th 2015.
