New Zealand EPA receives a biopesticide application
Date:12-15-2014
New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has received an application from Zelam Limited seeking to import Blossom Protect, a WDG containing 2 strains of Aureobasidium pullulans, for the protection of pome fruit trees against the disease organism Erwinia amylovora (fire blight) and kiwifruit vines from Psa. As a biopesticide, Blossom Protect helps growers move closer to the ‘clean green image’, as well as providing more competition to existing products (and consequently keeping prices competitive). The public comment will close on 17 February 2015.
