Enza Zaden has opened a new research and development facility in Myakka City. “With this new building we have expanded into the next phase of vegetable seed production and breeding in Florida”, says Ton van der Velden, CEO of Enza Zaden in the United States.
Last week, the expansion of the 60-acre facility in Florida was celebrated. For this, company executives, growers from Florida and surrounding states, dealers and other important parties gathered for the ribbon cutting of the new office building for the research and development team.
"We will be here for the long run and we know that it takes a lot of effort and innovation for the growers to be competitive. The whole idea of this station is we want to be known as an innovative company”, said Ton van der Velden.
Enza Zaden Research USA uses hydroponic growing for tomatoes, sweet peppers and cucumbers. Hydroponic farming is an all-natural process using a liquid-mineral solution instead of soil to bring nutrients to the plants.
