Monsanto closes its Leesburg location
Date:11-28-2014
Monsanto plans to soon close Leesburg location on Highway 19. Representatives with the company say the decision to leave Leesburg comes after "a thoughtful assessment of Monsanto's plant breeding business strategy."
More than half of its workers will relocate to North Carolina and Mississippi. Those not able to relocate are being given the chance to apply for other positions in the company.
Regular operations at the Leesburg site will end by December 12th.
