Shanxi Meibang receives national registration for triticonazole

Chinese agchem company, Shanxi Meibang Agrochemical recently received national registration for 96% triticonazole TC from ICAMA (Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals,MOA) China, which will be valid until November 2019. Meibang is the first domestic company who obtained this registration. Previously, BASF received 95% triticonazole TC registration in October 2012.
Being a sterol biosynthesis inhibitor, triticonazole has characteristics of systemic and long residue control. It can be used as seed treatment or preventative treatment against rust fungi, powdery mildew and others.
In late 2009, BASF received approval for the use of triticonazole product (Charter RTU)for cereal seed treatment in Canada. In 2010, BASF received approval from the US EPA for another product containing this ais, Charter F2 fungicide seed treatment (triticonazole+ metalaxyl) for use on barley and wheat crops, followed by US registration of Stamina F3 HL (triticonazole + metalaxyl + pyraclostrobin).
In 2012, the sales of triticonazole is less than $30 million.
