FMC opens new innovation center‏ in Latin America

FMC Agricultural Solutions inaugurated its Latin America Innovation Center in Campinas, São Paulo. According to the company, this is a technological pole with structure and "latest generation" equipments to develop "solutions and innovative chemical formulations to contribute Latin America agriculture in a "more productive and sustainable way".
Currently, FMC Corporation has three innovation centers in the world that serve in North America, Indian, and China. The Latin America Innovation Center will be the company's fourth and the first completely dedicated to FMC Agricultural Solutions division. The building has nearly 1,300 square meters with 700 square meters of laboratories.
Antonio Carlos Zem, FMC Corporation president in Latin America, highlighted that "Latin America represents the region with the biggest revenue generation and growth for FMC Agricultural Solutions, and the investment in the Latin America Innovation Center confirms the company's commitment with the farm business".

Ortega explained that "the first phase, already in operation, includes the development of formulation laboratories and pilot plants for the main technologies commercially available. The next step is a microbiology laboratory developing biological formulations, besides a new module containing climatic chambers to do experiments for the assessment of the technology effectiveness. The project is forecasted to be completed in early 2016."
