China’s agchem import up by 16% in July 2014

According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, pesticides import volume in July increased by 16% to 7 thousand tons, with import value up by 28.4% to $65.7 million. Pesticide export volume in July up by 7.9% to 97 thousand tons, with value up by 19.3% to $364 million.

In the first seven month of 2014, the total volume of imported pesticides was up by 20.3% to 58 thousand tons, with value increased by 11.5% to $516 million. The export volume rose by 10.2% to 766 thousand tons, with value up by 20% to $2,729 million.   

Import specifics

Herbicide is the largest category in July’s pesticide import, with volume of 2000 tons and value of $12.8 million. Fungicide import saw a year-on-year flat with 3000 tons in volume, $31 million in value. Insecticide import was 1000 tons with a 8.3% decrease, however, value rose by 34.3% to at $ 11.9 million.
 
During the first seven months of 2014, the volume and value of both fungicide and herbicide import showed double-digit growth. The volume of fungicide up by 14.9% to 20 thousand tons, with a 10.8% increased value to $221 million. Herbicides volume was 19 thousand tons, recording a 12.8% increase in value to $116 million. Import volume of insecticide was 8000 tons (up 12.1%) and value was $122 million (up 5.9%).

Export specifics

In July, herbicide is the largest category, with volume of 63 thousand tons (up 8.4%) and value of $198 million. The export volume of insecticide declined by 5.9% to 22 thousand tons. For fungicide, the volume rose by 21.6% to 7000 tons, with value of $40.53 million.

During the first seven months of 2014, the export of herbicides saw a double-digital growth, up 12.1% to 549 thousand tons and 21.5% to $1,773 million, in terms of volume and value respectively. Insecticide export volume amount to 146 thousand tones and value to $646 million. The export of fungicide increased by 6.4% in volume and 11.4% in value.
