Date:09-02-2014
Chinese enterprise Sichuan Beier Chemical Group Ltd. recently announced an agreement with Russia-based Orgsyntes Group (a branch of Renova Group) on glyphosate manufacture. Through the mode of joint venture enterprise, the two companies depict the strategy of complementary advantages and resources integration in developing Russia’s glyphosate industry.
Being the Chinese 100 Top Pesticide Enterprise, Beier Group is the initiator of the glyphosate synthesis by IDAN method and has related national intellectual properties. The agrochem sales of Beierwas Yuan 642 million in 2013. The company is planning to build glyphosate manufacturing facility based on PMIDA in South America.
Russia is endowed with natural gas with high quality and low price, and rich phosphate rock resources, which can provide sufficient raw materials for IDAN glyphosate project. Orgsyntes’ subordinate factories (e.g. thermoelectric, phosphorous and hydrogen peroxide), project construction land and other utilities can greatly reduce project construction investment and cost. The completion of this project can not only fill the blank of glyphosate manufacture in the CIS countries, but also meet the market demand of glyphosate in this region.
After one year of investigation and in-depth exchanges, Sichuan Beier and Orgsyntes have signed a series of strategic agreements since May 2014.
