Fuhua Tongda’s optimized glyphosate process launched
Date:08-21-2014
Recently the "optimized annual 120,000-ton resource-saving glyphosate project" was brought into production by the Chinese glyphosate enterprise Fuhua Tongda Agro-Chemical Technology Co., Ltd (Fuhua), which stands for an important milestone of Fuhua’s establishment of a world glyphosate production center utilizing its resource advantages while supported by the development of the cycle economy.
The “optimized annual 120,000-ton resource-saving glyphosate project” is a high-level start point of Fuhua to enter glyphosate business toward establishment of a world glyphosate technical production center, which is backed up by the regional resource advantages. The project takes an investment of Yuan 490 million, using the clean glycine process for production of glyphosate where an optimized process and technical innovation enable wastes of production being changed to high value-added product. This can offset the cost of production of glyphosate, which greatly enhances the competitive edge and the sustainability of the production enterprise.
In 2009, Fuhua cooperated with universities and research institutes in China, having set up a clean glyphosate production engineering center to develop the key technology pursuant to the glyphosate production chain. The center has successfully developed 12 national invention patents including the hydrolysis process of glycine-based production of glyphosate, and the chloromethane trace water recovery by pressure swing adsorption in the production of glyphosate. The technical innovation has promoted the high-efficient re-use of waste resources, elongated glyphosate production chain and has facilitated the sustainable development of production enterprise.
Fuhua’s glyphosate sales reached Yuan 3.44 billion in 2013, becoming China’s largest clean glyphosate production enterprise with most advanced production process.
