Yangnong Chemical receives approvals from FAO/WHO JMPS
Date:08-12-2014
Chinese agrochemical company Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical LTD. has received initial approval for two active ingredients from the Panel of Expert of FAO/WHO Joint Meeting on Pesticide Specifications (JMPS). These two were Lambda-cyhalothrin and bifenthrin.
The company submitted joint specifications to FAO/WHO for the technical materials Lambda-cyhalothrin and bifenthrin in 2013. In June 2014, at the 13th FAO/WHO JMPS in Gent, Belgium, the company obtained approval to market the ingredients from the Panel Expert of FAO/WHO JMPS.
In a subsequent meeting, the 15th CIPAC (Collaborative International Pesticides Analytical Council)/FAO/WHO joint meeting, Yangnon’s analytical methods for evaluating insecticide D-tetramethrin gained recognition by Dr. Ralf, the Chair of CIPAC. He noted that, after further experiments and verifications, these could become CIPAC standard methods for D-Tetramethrin.
The FAO/WHO JMPS is the international technical basis for the production and trade of pesticides. They gained recognition by FAO/WHO JMPS, allowing the company to manufacture pesticides under the new international standard, which is believed to improve the company’s competition in the international market and break possible technological trade barriers.
