EU postpones the approval expiry date of two rodenticides
Date:07-11-2014
EU has postponed the approval expiry dates for two non-crop anticoagulant rodenticides, difethialone and difenacoum until June 30th 2018. This decision was taken because renewal assessment are not completed.
Their approval of difethialone and difenacoum will expire on October 31st 2014 and March 31st 2015, respectively. Because of the identified risks of these two ais, their renewal approval is subject to an assessment. The renewal applications of the two ais have been submitted.
EU states that in order to facilitate the review and comparison of the risks and benefits of all anticoagulant rodenticides, the assessment of difethialone and difenacoum will be postponed until the renewal application of the last anticoagulant rodenticide is submitted.
