Dow AgroSciences’ Arylex™ Active Receives First Registration in North America
Date:06-24-2014
Canadian farmers will have new tools to fight weed resistance in their wheat and barley crops, as Dow AgroSciences Canada Inc. has received registration for Arylex™ active (Halauxifen-methyl). Specifically, the company received the Canadian registrations of Paradigm™ herbicide and Pixxaro™ herbicide, both of which include the new active ingredient, Arylex. Arylex was submitted through the Global Joint Review regulatory process which is a simultaneous data review by the United States, Canada and Australia. The Canadian registration is the second globally, following China, for this innovative, low-use rate herbicide which represents a novel area of chemistry. It will provide a solution for managing hard-to-control broadleaf weeds with utility in multiple crops.
“Farmers across North America need new tools for weed resistance management, and our Arylex products in Canada will be a welcome option for growers,” says Rajan Gajaria, Global Leader, North America, Dow AgroSciences. “We’re proud to continually bring forward innovation that has made Dow AgroSciences the leader in cereal herbicides in North America and help provide solutions for cereal crops which are a staple worldwide.”
Continued registrations of products with Arylex are anticipated in 2014 and beyond in major cereal herbicide markets including the United States, Australia, Russia, India as well as most European and South American countries.
