EU first approves the basic substances
Date:06-06-2014
The European Commission has recently proposed to grant the first EU agrochemical approvals in the new category of “basic substances”. Basic substances are not predominantly used for plant protection purposes but are useful in plant protection in a product consisting of the substance and water.
The substances include German company ChiPro’s chitosan hydrochloride and French task force Institute Technique de l’Agriculture Biologique’s Equisetum arvense. The approvals will be effective on July 1, 2014 and have no end date.
