Milenia AgroScience belongs to ADAMA in Brazil

ChemChina subsidiary Makhteshim-Agan Industries (MAI), rebranding global business as "ADAMA", with annual turnover exceeding US$3 billion in 2013, which places it as the 7th largest agrochemical company in its sector.
The old brand, Milenia, which is already known in Brazil, will still be used on labeling of products in the industry until the second half of this year, when the gradual process of change to Adama begins, respecting the regulatory rules of the country.
The company, focused on providing simple and effective solutions for the farmer, has subsidiaries in 45 countries, more than 4,500 employees and has sales in 120 countries. The portfolio of the products includes fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, plant growth regulators(PGRs), seed treatment and non-agricultural products.
In Brazil, Adama has two production plants, one in Londrina (PR) and another in Taquari (RS). The company also has 15 regional sales units, and three distribution centers in Ibiporã-PR, Rondonópolis-MT and Assis-SP. The Country is responsible for around 15% of the group's businesses. There are approximately 550 employees, who, in recent years, have increased the participation of Latin America in total revenue of the company. From 2012 to 2013, businesses in this region grew by 17.8% (the largest regional units of Adama), for a value of US$757.5 million in sales. In Brazil, the growth was 19%, reaching about US$460 million . In the first quarter of 2014, the growth percentages were even higher.
The capacity of the installations in Brazil generates a production of 170 million liters per year. The factory of Taquari is a global provider of active ingredients of several formulations, with expertise in the segment of agricultural pesticides, chemical intermediates and veterinary products.
Londrina is a multipurpose unit with modern facilities and quality control development, being responsible for the formulation of most of the pesticides marketed by Adama in Brazil.
Adama has strong presence in the field, with three business departments aimed directly for the farmer: Cerrado, South, and Southeast-Northeast. There are 112 technical sales representatives, 60 more technical assistants and agronomists which is the result of company's partnership with Unicampo, in Maringa (PR). In addition, it also features the presence of a strong team of market development and technical support that helps ensure correct product positioning and also to train the technical network of distributors and cooperatives. On average, around 3 thousand small events are performed with farmers per year including product demonstrations, sessions for clarification of doubts and technical lectures.
