Simplot introduces new nutritional product
Date:05-08-2014
The J. R. Simplot Company recently announced the introduction of Red Vigor as part of its line-up of premium proprietary nutritional products.
Red Vigor is a unique, high-quality liquid 2% EDDHSA ortho-ortho iron chelate designed to combat iron-deficiency chlorosis (IDC). The new product has been strategically formulated to support early iron demand in soils susceptible to (IDC) with a proprietary blend of micronutrients and enzymes designed to rapidly increase native soil bacteria and fungi that improves nutrient cycling and availability in susceptible crops.
“Our responsibility is to make sure that our crop advisors have the best products available to them as they look to add value to their customer, the grower,” said Jason Radford, director of Plant Health Technologies & Specialty Products (PHT), the division of Simplot that has developed the product. “Red Vigor is a wonderful new product and we’ve seen great results. It mixes and cleans up well, and it’s easy to handle.”
Red Vigor is labeled to be applied to all crops that are affected by iron deficiency and it is most effective early in the season when cool, wet soil slows the microbial activity that helps to make iron available to young plants. Crops that are sensitive to iron deficiency include legumes and pulse crops such as soybeans, dry beans, and peas. Corn and small grains can also show iron deficiency chlorosis.
Red Vigor is available to growers through Simplot Grower Solutions retail outlets, which can be found in nearly all major crop-growing regions west of the Mississippi.
The PHT-branded specialty products line includes a wide variety of foliar and soil applied nutrients and a full line of adjuvants, soil amendments, and plant growth stimulants to help ensure the best crop possible.
