Huapont-Nutrichem agrochemical sales up 17% in 2013

Huapont-Nutrichem’s agrochemical sales rose by 16.8% in 2013 compared with 2012 to Yuan 3.53 billion ($ 568 million at the current rate). The net profit of agrochemical business reached Yuan 212 million ($ 34.1 million), accounting for 60% of company’s total net profit.
The agrochemical business of Huapont-Nutrichem was found in 2011 after the merger of Beijing Nutrichem company. In 2012, Chongqing Huapont Pharm. renamed Huapont-Nutrichem, with business covering pharmaceutical and agrochemical. Huapont-Nutrichem posted an agrochemical sale of Yuan 3.023 billion in 2012, leapt to the No. 1 company in sales of
AgroPages’ Top 20 Chinese Agrochemical Companies Ranking List.
Last year, Beijing Nutrichem has acquired 66.03% stake of Hangzhou Qingfeng Agro-chemical Co., Ltd (“Qingfeng”) and then became the parent company of Qingfeng. Qingfeng is a Chinese pesticide manufacturer, producing alachlor, acetochlor, pretilachlor, metolachlor as well as prochloraz. For now, Huapont-Nutrichem totally possesses five production bases in China with the inclusion of Qingfeng.
Nutrichem has been running GLP lab since 2004 and obtained GLP laboratory qualification certificate granted by OECD in 2006. Last year, this lab successfully passed the supervisory review by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment and got approval for new testing items.
Nutrichem disclosed that the company has invested some Yuan 60 million on the projects of 600 tons/year azoxystrobin, 900 tons/year sulcotrione/mesotrione and 3,500 tons pesticide formulation construction project, and the total project schedule has been finished by 20% at present.
Outlook
Nutrichem expects enhanced supply support of its agrochemical business unit for their own pesticide TC product in 2014, to keep reducing production cost, strengthen the strategic cooperative partnerships with multinationals and further integrate the manufacturing facilities of agrochemical business unit.
