Canada approves Syngenta's Cruiser® 5FS Seed Treatment
Date:02-25-2014
Syngenta Canada recently announced the registration of Cruiser® 5FS Seed Treatment for on-farm use, offering growers the convenience of applying Cruiser 5FS Seed Treatment on-farm, using a closed-system treater for unmatched control of pea leaf weevil and wireworm. Cruiser 5FS Seed Treatment will be available in refillable kegs for the 2014 season.
"We will be able to provide growers with additional use options for Cruiser 5FS seed treatment in time for the 2014 season," said Nathan Klages, Product Lead, Seedcare, with Syngenta. "The on-farm label expansion is particularly exciting news for cereal and pulse growers who have a need to treat their seed."
This registration allows growers to apply the Group 4 seed treatment to wheat, barley, rye, triticale, buckwheat, millet, dry peas, chickpeas, lentils, lupins and fava bean seed, on-farm using closed-system transfer, mixing and application equipment. Seed may be treated up to a maximum rate of 50 mL/100 kg seed (30 g ai/100 kg seed).
Cruiser 5FS Seed Treatment is an effective way to protect seed and seedlings from insect pests, ensuring that plants get off to a healthy, vigorous start. The seed-applied insecticide may also be combined with the following seed treatment fungicides for additional control of infectious seed- and soil-borne pathogens, such as root rots and seedling blights.
•
Wheat and barley: Cruiser 5FS Seed Treatment may be mixed with Vibrance® XL Seed Treatment or used with Cruiser Maxx® Vibrance Cereals Seed Treatment.
•
Pulse crops: Cruiser 5FS seed treatment may be mixed with Vibrance Maxx (a co-pack of Vibrance 500FS Fungicide and Apron Maxx® RFC/RTA® Seed Treatment Fungicide).
