Eden Research, Daymsa sign data licence agreement
Date:01-20-2014
Eden Research plc (EDEN), a UK-based agrochemical and encapsulation development company, announced that it has granted access to its EU regulatory data and dossiers to Desarrollo Agricola y Minero S.A. ("Daymsa") of Zaragoza, Spain.
In 2013, Eden received approval for three active substances under the European Union Regulation ("EC") No. 1107/2009 concerning the Placing of Plant Protection Products on the Market. This data, which was generated by Eden to register its own plant protection product 3AEY, is also of value to third parties as a basis to register their own products using one or more of the same active substances.
Daymsa already uses similar natural ingredients in its existing product portfolio and shall now register new products using the data for the active substances registered by Eden.
Clive Newitt, Managing Director of Eden comments: "Having invested a considerable amount of time, money and effort into the EU approvals of the three active substances, it is pleasing to see a return on our investment through upfront and milestone payments, as well as royalties on commercial sales. Daymsa is a well-established business with presence in Europe and Latin America and so the potential reach of these new products is significant."
Juan Pardos, General Manager of Daymsa comments: "Daymsa, a leading producer in Europe of Leonardite, is a 34 year old Spanish company that specialized in "Bio-stimulant and Bio-control products" even before those terms became of general use in ecological and conventional agriculture. This strategic agreement with Eden will enable us to become a leading company in Europe not only as leading producer of Leonardite but also a leading producer of "Vegetable Extract based" Bio-Control products."
