Brazilian Bequisa launches Blockmoll® to fight slugs and snails
Date:12-03-2013
Bequisa, a multinational company and one of the leaders in the Brazilian Post Harvest and Household Cleaning, has recently launched Blockmoll®, a pesticide to fight effectively and safely slugs and snails. The new product complements the portfolio of the company's Environmental Health, traditional in selling products for pest control. According to CEO Mauricio Marques, mollusks such as the African giant snail are out of control in Brazil, because, in addition to them attacking crops, they also threaten public health and can transmit diseases”. Bequisa could not have chosen a better time to release this product because these pests appear more in hot and humid seasons and the arrival of summer provides infestations," says the CEO.
The Blockmoll® is a safe product, which took two years to be developed, enough time for it to be prepared carefully and following strict quality control standards. Bequisa made a high investment, with the latest equipment and booked a unique space in its factory, thus avoiding any cross contamination with other products. "This is a project that involved the technical, registration, marketing, supply, production, sales and controlling areas. The expectation is that Bequisa has, with the commercialization of Blockmoll®, a share of about 50% market share in these pests control,” said Maurice.
Blockmoll® is registered for specialized companies or entities use. All pesticide has toxicity, being necessary to follow all directions on the label and precautions for the use and handling. After the release for the distributors on November, 21st, Bequisa offered training to its customers. Blockmoll® will be marketed and distributed nationwide in three main forms: 1kg bag, 1kg box of 5 sachets of 200g and 20kg bag.
