China approves Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium technical
Date:11-26-2013
Chinese agrochemical company Jiangsu Agrochem Laboratory has recently received registration for its 91% Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium technical from Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA). As per
Chinese registration watch, Jiangsu Agrochem Laboratory is the first Chinese company approved for Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium. Bayer CropScience had received 91% iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium registration before.
Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium is a selective herbicide with activity of inhibiting branched chain amino acid synthesis. It blocked biosynthesis of the essential amino acids valine and isoleucine, hence stopping cell division and plant growth. Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium is mainly used for post-emergence control of grass and broad-leaved weeds, including
Galium aparine, Lolium spp in winter, spring and durum wheat, triticale, rye and spring barley.
Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium was first developed by AgrEvo GmbH and now belongs to Bayer. Bayer CropScience had registered formulations of Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium in a mixture with amidosulfuron and mesosulfuron-methyl separately in China.
