SGS launches Pedigreed Seed Crop Inspection service in Canada
Date:11-26-2013
SGS, an Authorized Seed Crop Inspection Service provider (ASCIS) is launching a Pedigreed Seed Crop Inspection service in Canada in January 2014.
From the beginning of the year, Canada’s seed growers must undertake third party pedigreed seed crop inspections to meet the requirements of the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association (CGSA). These inspections must be conducted by an ASCIS provider.
SGS has a team of qualified and licensed seed crop inspectors (LSCI), audited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Conducted throughout a commodity’s life cycle, from sowing to harvest, SGS’ inspection services provide the framework you need to meet the requirements of Canada’s new seed crop framework.
Operating from offices across the country, in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec and Ontario, SGS can deliver Pedigreed Seed Crop Inspection services in most any location.
As a leading supplier of agriculture services SGS offers its clients independent quality assurance and quality control monitoring of its products.
During the company’s 130-year history, SGS has developed a diverse portfolio of services. In addition to pedigreed seed crop inspections, the company can deliver the following services with ISO 9001 certification and ISO 17025 accreditation:
• Grain, feed, forage, manure, and food testing
• Soil sampling and GPS mapping
• Precision farming
• Livestock nutrition services
