Huapont-nutrichem to acquire two fine chemical enterprises

Chinese agrochemical enterprise
Huapont-nutrichem recently announced its decision to acquire 100% of stake in two fine chemical enterprises in Shandong Province – Shandong Fuer and Shandong Kaisheng New Materials, which will total to an amount of Yuan 1.32 billion for both enterprises.
Shandong Fuer specializes in R&D, production and marketing of fine chemical intermediates, which mainly covers aromatic compounds for synthesizing of pesticide intermediates to be used for production of quinclorac, bifenthrin, diflubenzuron, F500, flusilazole and flutriafol; Shandong Fuer has established a long-term cooperation with BASF.
Shandong Kaisheng New Materials mainly deals with fine chemical intermediates and novel polymers, which cover thionyl chloride, M-phthaloyl chloride, terephthaloyl chloride, chloric ether and polyaryletherketone. Among them the thionyl chloride is an important organic chemical material for production of pesticide, pharmaceuticals and food additives such as decamethrin, fenpropathrin, ciprofloxacin; chloric ether is one of the raw materials of low toxic and high efficient herbicide – the early-phase broad spectrum rice field application pretilachlor in bud stage.
Huapont-nutrichem says that the restructuring will further consolidate its upstream and downstream resources to achieve a scale up cost-effective operation as well as to enhance its capacity to provide industry leaders like BASF with more varieties of products.
Huapont-nutrichem achieved sales of $478.9 million in 2012, ranking respectively No.16 on the
Global Agrochemical Top 20 and No.1 on the
China Agrochemical Top 20. Huapont-nutrichem acquired 58% of stake in China’s Qingfeng Agrochemicals in August 2012, starting its industry chain deployment since then.
