Date:10-18-2013
Arysta LifeScience recently launched EVITO T (fluoxastrobin) Fungicide in Zambia and Mozambique, the first expansion of the product since its 2006 introduction in the U.S. In Africa, marketing of EVITO T will focus on maize, soybeans, sugarcane, wheat, tomatoes and potatoes.
Arysta LifeScience acquired global rights to fluoxastrobin from Bayer CropScience in 2012. Fluoxastrobin is the third and latest generation of strobilurin fungicide. Its patented molecular design enables fast penetration into the plant tissues and uniform distribution within the plant.
Those unique properties of high acropetal systemicity, referred as Xylem Pro Technology?, along with optimized formulation technology, result in rapid rain-fastness, a high level of control of a wide range of diseases, and an optimized plant health effect in a wide range of environmental conditions.
"The unique structure of EVITO T brings excellent disease control and very potent plant health benefits that are extremely well suited to maximize farmers returns under the growing conditions in southern Africa," said Dr. Mark Singleton, global product development manager, fungicides and insecticides, Arysta LifeScience.
"It was a key milestone for Arysta LifeScience to introduce this new active ingredient into the African markets," added Max de Bollivier, head of marketing, Southern Africa, Arysta LifeScience.
"With EVITO T, Zambian and Mozambique farmers now have access to the newest and best-in-class strobilurin fungicide for a wide variety of crops. The first technical and commercial feedback has been excellent and promising for further expansion into other markets in Africa."
