Canada to approve BASF's insecticide chlorfenapyr

The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA)is granting full registration for the sale and use of BASF’s Chlorfenapyr Technical Insecticide, and two chlorfenapyr-based end-use products Mythic Insecticide and Pylon Miticide Insecticide.
Chlorfenapyr is a member of the pyrrole class of insecticides (Group 13) and is the active ingredient contained in the commercial class products Pylon Miticide Insecticide and Mythic Insecticide. Mythic Insecticide is for use in limited applications to the exterior of buildings against various pests and as pre-construction and post-construction termiticide. Pylon Miticide Insecticide is an insecticide/acaricide/nematicide for use on greenhouse ornamentals and some greenhouse fruiting vegetables.
The PMRA has opened the public comments until Oct 28, 2013.
