China's agchem trade boosts in July 2013

According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, China’s pesticide import in July boosted by 57.1% and 13.2% in volume and value terms compared to the same period of 2012. Pesticide export also kept a steady growth in terms of volume with 23.8% growth and was valued at $ 305 million.

The country imported 48600 tons of pesticide in total from Jan to Jul, with a growth of 20.6% in value reaching $ 463 million. Pesticide export also increased during the same period by 27.4% in volume with export value at $ 2.274 billion.

Import specifics

Fungicide remained to be the largest category in July’s pesticide import with a 20.2% increase to 2400 tons. Herbicide import boosted strongly by 309.4% to 1400 tons and valued at $ 8 million. Insecticide import increased 80.4% and 10.6% in volume and value terms, reaching 1000 tons and $ 9 billion.

From Jan to Jul, both fungicide’s and insecticide’s import volume and value showed double digit increases, among which, fungicide’s import was up by 13.4% to 17600 tons and valued at $ 199 million. Import volume of Insecticide increased by 14.5% to 6700 tons. There was a minor increase in the volume of herbicide import, but value was up by 26.7% to $ 103 million.

Export specifics

Herbicide export ranked first in term of volume with an increase of 24.1% to 58100 tons. Export value of herbicide maintained substantial growth of 47.8% to $ 179 million. Insecticide export rise 33.1% to 21100 tons, and fungicide slightly increased to 5900 tons.

From Jan to Jul, herbicide’s export remained high with growth of 33.4% and 49.5% in terms of volume and value. Insecticide export reached 137700 tons and valued at $ 539 million. Fungicide export witnessed a minor increase in terms of volume and value.
