Date:08-29-2013
Gowan Company welcomes Bobby Simoneaux in Government Affairs. He joins the Tribe with extensive knowledge of pesticide products, having worked as Director of Pesticide and Environmental Programs at the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry for 24 years. During his time with the Department, Mr. Simoneaux worked with pesticides from cradle to grave, dedicating his efforts to ensure proper registration with the EPA, enforcing FIFRA as well as Louisiana state pesticide laws, and has had a long trajectory within the agriculture industry.
Bobby has worked tirelessly for the producers in Louisiana during his tenure at the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. His first and foremost objective is to do what is best for the producer. He has been an advocate and friend of the entire agricultural community. During his career, Bobby has secured numerous section 18’s and 24C’s for the producers because of the benefit to the grower. He took on a leadership role for the EPA region which included Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas.
Mr. Simoneaux also served on the board of directors at the Association of American Pesticide Control Officials (AAPCO) as well as the State-FIFRA Issues Research and Evaluation Group (SFIREG) for a number of years.
Gowan Company CEO Juli Jessen stated on Monday that Mr. Simoneaux’s integration to the group will be key to Gowan and the industry, continuing to nurture the important feedback loop between government and growers.
