Australia New Zealand to approve Bayer and Syngenta GM soybean imports

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has proposed to approve the import of food derived from Bayer CropScience and Syngenta's genetically modified SYHT0H2 soybeans. The soybeans have been modified to provide tolerance to the herbicide glufosinate-ammonium and to herbicides, particularly mesotrione, that inhibit p-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD).
The public comment is open until Aug 23, 2013.
