The India’s Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with International Panaacea Limited (IPL), a Delhi-based makers of bio-fertiliser and bio-pesticides, to commercialise its technologies.
Dr S S Gosal, Director of Research, PAU, and Kundar Singh Bisht, Director of International Panaacea Limited (IPL), signed the MoU for licensing of the latter's biological control agent--Trichoderma.
Vice-Chancellor of PAU, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, said "the Trichoderma harzianum is a biological control agent, which is eco-friendly.
"Its use will avoid the problem of pesticide residue which is common with the use of chemical control agents,".
Dr Gosal added that this MoU will be beneficial for the farmers as they will be getting a quality bio-pesticide in the market.
