According to the Report “
Agrochemicals in Kazakhstan – 2012” Kazakhstan has increased the sowing area under crop on 1,3% till 21,5 million hectares in 2012.
Spring sowing area made up 18,8 million hectares, grain was placed on 16,2 million hectares, oilseeds on 1,8 million hectares, which is almost at the level of 2011.
Area under cereals has decreased on 7% in comparison with index of 2011 and has amounted to 15 699 thousand hectares.
Thus, it is said about the diversification of crop industry, monoculture leaves their habitable field in favor of oilseeds, gray, stern.
The Table below presents the statistics of the sown areas for period 2008 – 2012 yy, depending on the crop’s types
Under result, showed at the Table, Kazakhstan has determined in general with area, allocated for crops. The changes take part in the structure of sowing.
Cereals are significantly losing their positions, they are replacing with more progressive cultures – rape, flax, chickpeas. Also a fact, stimulating to innovative crop rotation is State subsidies, where priority is given to oilseeds.
Dynamics of the last three years shows that in Kazakhstan the area under oilseeds have increased. Herewith, the increase is principally due to rape.
