The Chinese agrochemical company Hebei Veyong Bio Chemical has recently received the registration approval for insecticide clothianidin of 95% technical and 20% clothianidin SC from Chinese Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA). The formulation of 20% clothianidin SC was first registered in China for the control of rice planthoppers.
Clothianidin is the neonicotinoid insecticide featured as high efficiency, selectivity and safety, with no cross-resistance with conventional pesticides. The broad-spectrum insecticide is mainly used on rice, vegetables, fruit trees and other crops against hemiptera, coleoptera, diptera and certain lepidoptera pests, including aphids, leafhoppers, thrips, plant hopper and so on.
For the moment, there are three more companies registering technical clothianidin in China and two more registering the formulations products.
