AgroPages-Advan to sell Prophyta's Contans in US-Agricultural news

The German biopesticide company, Prophyta (Poel), has appointed Mitsui & Co/Sipcam-Oxon's US agrochemical joint venture, Advan (Roswell, Georgia), as US distributor for the biofungicide, Contans (Coniothyrium minitans). Contans is recommended for the control of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and S minor on fruit, vegetables, field crops, ornamentals and herbs. It received US approval in 2001 and was originally introduced by Encore Technologies. Advan markets a range of biopesticides formerly sold by the Mitsui subsidiary, Certis USA.
