Bayer launched new herbicide Hussar Plus (iodosulfuron, metsulfuron and mesosulfuron), a product for weed control in winter cereals in only one pass. Under the “OnePass” concept, this post-emergent application systemic herbicide fights broadleaf and grass weeds affecting wheat and barley crops.
“Hussar Plus adds a new asset to the previous product, Hussar OD, enabling the control of wild oat – not just suppression – as well as Rye grass, Poa, Phalaris and broadleaf weeds. Furthermore, its speed of action is faster”, explained Fernando Cabona, Product Manager of Bayer CropScience.
“The advantage of Hussar Plus is that it controls the whole weed range in one pass, without mixtures, reducing cost and complexity”, said Cabona. Regarding residual effects, subsequent beddings controls, up to three weeks after application, have been held, said the technician.
The herbicide’s active ingredients are iodosulfuron, metsulfuron and mesosulfuron. According to Bayer, wheat and barley crop technical referents tested Hussar Plus at commercial scale within its usual management outlines in more than 75 plots in the south of Buenos Aires during 2011 and 2012, obtaining very good outputs.
