China to continue its effort on pesticide administration in 2013qrcode

In order to strengthen administration of pesticide production and its quality assurance to protect agricultural work safety and food safety, the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture has decided to continue the pesticide administration campaign in 2013, which mainly includes the following:

1) To promote the publication of the “Pesticide Administration Act”; to make complete the regulatory documentation system including the “Pesticide Business License Regulation”, “Pesticide Registration Regulation” and “Pesticide Registration Data Requirement”.

2) To carry out a vegetable-use pesticide survey; to organize a joint trial on the expended application scope of registered pesticide; to promote registration of vegetable-use pesticide; and to ensure the safety of vegetable-use pesticide. To carry out safety supervision and re-assessment of registered pesticide; to identify and eliminate potential risks at an early stage. To carry out the emergency response training program according to the “Pesticide Application Contingency Plan”.

3) To enhance market supervision to maintain a good market order; to take high-toxic pesticide treatment action; to get into the high-toxic pesticide producers and pesticide producers which are of common concern.
 
4) To enhance pesticide residual monitor to ensure the safety and quality of farm products; to speed up the formulation and amendment to pesticide residual standard; and to publicize 1,500 MRLs.

5) To continue implementation of the subsidy policy for demonstrative low-toxic pesticide applications; and to formulate the “Low-Toxic & Low Residual Pesticide Directory”.

6) To give publicity to new regulations and pesticide-oriented knowledge; to train farmers how to identify and select the low-toxic and low residual pesticide as reasonable.
