The US EPA has established a tolerance exemption for the biochemical insecticide methyl jasmonate in or on all food commodities when applied pre-harvest.
The petitor, Becker Underwood, submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDC A) requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of methyl jasmonate when applied pre-harvest.
This regulation is effective April 17, 2013. The US EPA will open the public comment until June 17, 2013.
