Novel sulfonylurea herbicide monosulfuran-ester approved by ICAMA

China Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) has recently granted the full registration approval of a novel sulfonylurea herbicide--monosulfuron-ester  technical 90% and wettable powder 10% produced by Tianjin Green Agrochemicals Science & Technology Ltd, to be used for protection of spring and autumn wheat against the annual broadleaf and grass weeds.

Monosulfuran-ester has been applied to a total land of more than 2 million Mu (1 Mu equals 667 m2), being mainly used for wheat field weed control. It takes only 1.5g monosulfuran-ester formulation to cover 1 Mu of land against major wheat-field broadleaves achieving a removal rate of 96.7%.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Saudi Arabia has also done the experiment in the barley, with good results being achieved.
