Noposion to acquire stakes of Changlong Chemicals

Chinese agchem company Noposion yesterday announced its intention to acquire stakes of another Chinese agchem company, Changlong Chemicals, which is at present under a process of early-stage discussion on percentage of shares and total investment.

Changlong Chemicals is an assigned national phosgene production base with a capacity of 100,000-ton pesticide technical and various environment-friendly pesticide formulations. The Company’s product range includes insecticide, herbicide and fungicide series covering some 40 pesticide technical varieties, 60 formulation products with registration, production permit.
 
“We are looking for a return from investment in Changlong Chemicals and will move into pesticide technical market via Changlong Chemicals, enhancing the company’s competitive edge in the pesticide industry, which is of a great strategic significance to us”, according to Noposion.

As China’s largest pesticide formulation producer, Noposion takes a leadership in respect of formulation varieties and marketing channels. Participation in the acquisition of the stakes of Changlong Chemicals will facilitate a control over upstream business, increase product varieties as well as enlarge marketing coverage. Noposion, which is currently a formulation producer, expects to become a pesticide technical and formulation integrated pesticide producer if it succeeds in the acquisition.
