Asian Agchem Alliance was announced to be officially set up on February 25th, 2013 in Shanghai, China, just on the eve of the opening of CAC 2013, the world largest agrochemical & crop protection exhibition.
The establishment of the alliance was initiated by CCPIT Sub-council of Chemical Industry, Pesticides Manufactures & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI) and Vietnam Pesticide Association (VIPA), aiming to strengthen the communications and cooperation between the members, to promote the development of Asian agrochemical industry.
The alliance plans to create a free trade platform by the annual CAC Asian summit touring in the Asian countries, boosting the Asian agrochemical trade within the member countries and with the rest of countries of the world.
The alliance will also be devoted to enhance information exchange of the industry, including market, product, company, legislation and R&D status of the members, for possible joint R&D, investment, industrialization, registration, and trade between members.
"We are so glad to become the member of the Alliance. The agchem market of Vietnam is still far behind China and India, and we are in sore need of communication and cooperation with the other Asian countries.” said Nguyen Van Son, the vice-president of Vietnam Pesticide Association (VIPA).
Pradip Dave, the president of Pesticides Manufactures & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI), commented that “As a vast agricultural country, agrochemical industry plays the most important role in the development of economy of India. Our country now is undergoing rapid and solid development in its agrochemical business. The collaborations in agro field with the other Asian countries, like China, Vietnam are very important to us.”
"We would invite and develop more members to join the Alliance, to work together to build a platform for Asian agrochemical industry under mutual cooperation and supporting.” said Ma Chunyan, vice-chairman of CCPIT Sub-council of Chemical.
