The China National Chemical Information Center (CNIC) will hold a glyphosate industry development summit in Beijing on October 23rd-24th. Representatives from government departments, glyphosate herbicide manufacturers and industry insiders are expected to attend the summit to discuss the current state and development of the glyphosate industry, as well as techniques for improving production and wastewater management. Proposals to establish an advance alert mechanism to safeguard the industry will also be considered. The CNIC asserts that the summit is being held “in response to the growing instability in the glyphosate market”, with the aim of “helping enterprises find an appropriate path toward future development”.
