YORK, USA – United Farmers Cooperative has completed the acquisition of Jensen Seed & Fertilizer, which is located north of Aurora, from owner Clint Jensen. Headquartered in York, United Farmers Cooperative will increase regional efficiency and reliability with the addition of agronomy services based in the Aurora area.

This acquisition will complement the January 2012 purchase of the Marquette location and allow United Farmers Cooperative to better serve a growing customer base. With the purchase of the Aurora location, it will bring United Farmers Cooperative’s total locations to 32 in Nebraska and Kansas.

CEO Carl Dickinson stated: “We are always looking for the right fit for United Farmers Cooperative. It’s not about growth, but more about ‘Does it make sense to our current producers?’ If we can clearly see the value and we see the opportunity for success, then it is a natural fit.”

The Aurora location will be primarily an Agronomy location. “The Aurora location will allow us to provide this customer base the benefits of a full service cooperative to include our programs such as crop scouting, RD2, VRT, custom applications, and access to our aerial application service” says Don Swanson, VP of Agronomy. “We are pleased that Clint Jensen will continue to serve customers as an agent of United Farmers Cooperative.”

Said Jensen “I am excited to join the UFC team and continue to serve customers in the area with the added benefit of expanded agronomy services; and now their purchases will earn patronage dividends. I have worked with Ray Shanks at the Marquette location for a number of years and look forward to continued collaboration with him.”

United Farmers Cooperative has their administrative headquarters in York, Nebraska. UFC serves over 3,500 voting members and close to 8,500 non-voting members in 22 counties in Nebraska and Kansas. Our patrons are served from 32 locations by a team of more than 235 full-time employees.

Jensen Seed & Fertilizer is a private company based in Aurora supplying fertilizer products to customers in Hamilton county and surrounding areas. The company was established in 1967.
