China pesticides import up 21% in eleven monthsqrcode

According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, pesticide import/export in the first eleven months of 2012 is shown in table 1.

It is shown from the table above that the imported and exported pesticide both increased in the first eleven months. The volume of imported pesticide increased by 26.9% to 60,900 tons, which accounted for 1.9% of total domestic output; the value reached $538 million, increased by 20.7%, the imported average price decreased by 4.5% to $8,834.0/ton. Among them, imported insecticide price was highest, rose by 5.2% to $15,455/ton; imported fungicides went up by 26.2%.

In November, volume of imported fungicides continued to grow, with an increase of 16.3%, while the imports herbicides boosted 176.9% and the insecticides rose by 17.4%.

Volume of exported pesticide grew by 12.8% to 821,700 tons, the exported pesticide value increased by 17.8% to $2,604 million, and the exported average price rose by 4.5% to $3169.0/ton. The volume of exported pesticides accounts for 25.6% of the total output. Among them, exported herbicides volume grew by 20.5% to 574,400 tons, accounting for 66.6% of the total export, 36.9% of herbicide production. The exported herbicide value was $1,514 million; the average exported price was $2,765.8/ton, increased by 7.1%. As carbendazim exports stumble due to the dry weather in Brazil and India and Brazil exported orange juice residue issues at the beginning of the year, fungicides exports volume and value continued to decline. The exported fungicide decreased by 8.2 % to 65,000 tons, accounting for 7.9% of the total exported volume, 50.0% of fungicide production; the exported fungicide value reached $308 million, down by 9.8%, the average exported price was $4,738.5/ton, decreased by 2.6%.
