The committee of Central Insecticides Board of India (CIB) has recently decided to withdraw its registration approval given to agrochemical company, Meghmani Organics Ltd for import of insecticide emamectin benzoate technical from China.
The committee granted the permission for the import on June 8th, 2012. A petition was then filed by the MGR Industries Association, which mentioned the registration was for 95 percent purity for the product (emamectin benzoate), when actually the company was importing the same product with a purity of 90 percent from China.
Delhi HC has noticed to Central Govt. for the insecticide importing in July, 2012 to investigate the “illegally import” from China the insecticide with lesser purity. CIB finally made the decision after checking with China ICAMA for the original registration information in China.
