ECHA is seeking comments on new proposals for harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) for three pesticides: the insecticide/acaricide, pyridaben, the fungicides, dodemorph and dodemorph acetate. The public consultations will be open for 45 days and will end on 1 February 2013.
Pyridaben and dodemorph already have entries in the Annex VI to the CLP Regulation, and revisions of the current Annex VI entries (e.g. removal or addition of hazard classes) are proposed by the Netherlands. Dodemorph acetate (the actual substance used in pesticide products), on the other hand, does not currently have an Annex VI entry, which means that it has no formally agreed classification status in the EU.
The proposed harmonized classification and labeling for pyridaben are removal of minimum classification for acute toxicity and addition of acute and chronic M-factors of 1000. And for dodemorph are reproductive toxicity; removal of eye and skin irritation; removal of specific target organ toxicity – single exposure; hazardous to the aquatic environment and addition of acute and chronic M-factors of 1. The proposed CLH for dodemorph acetate are reproductive toxicity; skin corrosion; skin sensitization; hazardous to the aquatic environment and chronic M-factor of 1.
