Armenia and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) signed an agreement Tuesday to initiate a project aimed at eliminating outdated pesticides.
The deal was inked during a meeting between Agricultural Minister Sergo Karapetyan and newly-appointed FAO Deputy Head of the Regional Delegation Antonio Alonzi.
Karapetyan congratulated Alonzi on his recent appointment and reviewed bilateral cooperation between Armenia and the FAO during the past two years.
The minister also proposed major areas for further cooperation, including establishment of agricultural cooperatives, targeted use of water resources, and pomiculture, among others.
