China pesticide import up 18% in first eight months

According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, pesticide import/export in the first eight months of 2012 is shown in table 1.

It is shown from the table above that the imported and exported pesticide increased greatly. The volume of imported pesticide was 47,800 tons, increased by 23.2%; the value reached $423 million, increased by 18.3%, the imported average price was $8,849.4/t, decreased by 4.13%. Among them, imported insecticide, herbicide and fungicide increased by 30.9%, 23.7% and 27.9%, respectively.
Volume of exported pesticide reached 611,700 tons, increased by 9.5%, the exported pesticide value was $1,909 million, increased by 12.8%, and the exported average price was $3120.8/t, rose by 3.2%. The volume of exported pesticides accounts for 26.7 % of the total output. Among them, exported herbicides volume was 408,300 tons, increased by 17.4%, accounting for 66.7% of the total export, 38.4% of herbicide production. The exported herbicide value was$ 1,111 million; the average exported price was $2,721/t, increased by 5.2%. The exported fungicide was 48,600 tons, decreased by 7.5%, accounting for 7.9% of the total exported volume, 54.0% of fungicide production; the exported fungicide value reached $ 231 million, down 11.0%, the average exported price was $ 4,753.1/t, decreased by 3.1%.
